Early Life and Career
Jobs was born in San Francisco and was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs. He grew up in Mountain View, California, and attended Homestead High School. After high school, he enrolled in Reed College but dropped out after six months. In 1974, he returned to California and took a job as a technician at Atari, a video game company. He eventually saved enough money to travel to India where he studied Zen Buddhism and meditation.
In 1976, Jobs co-founded Apple Inc. in his parents’ garage with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. The company’s first product was the Apple I, a personal computer designed by Wozniak. Jobs and Wozniak went on to develop the Apple II, which became one of the first successful mass-produced personal computers. Apple went public in 1980, making Jobs a millionaire at the age of 25.
Successes and Setbacks at Apple
Under Jobs’ leadership, Apple continued to innovate and produce successful products such as the Macintosh computer, the iPod, and the iPhone. However, the company also experienced setbacks.
